It's okay...It Not Be okay?

Do you ever feel like everything in your life that could go wrong...goes wrong? Immediately, you start to breakdown and distance yourself from people. You feel lost and confused on how to get your life back on track. Then no of no where, you start to cry. Your friends call and text you (if they are good ones) and try to make you feel better. They notice you are not acting like yourself and you don't know how to respond. You want to express how you feel to them but you know they have other stuff to worry about. You don't make them to make your problems into their problems so you tell them "I'm okay". The thing is .... you know you're not and your friends know your not however, it's okay.

Tears of sadness aren't bad. Yeah, they probably do feel like the worse thing in the world but it's not the end of the world. It will get better and you know that. But at that moment, it's hard to acknowledge that. Sadness and pain makes happier moments in your life more valuable. If everything went well all the time then no moment will be a valuable one. you will never be challenged. You will never grow as a person.

Boys that includes you as well! Cry your eyes out when something goes wrong. There's no need to hold in your emotions and feelings in attempt to be " a man". What are you trying to prove? It's okay to not be at the right state of mind or to feel weak. All that matter is your ability to recover from this period of grief.

If you are sad or feeling depressed for a long period of time (more than 2-3 weeks ) seek help. It okay to not be okay but it's not okay to be depressed for a long period of time. It messes with you physically , emotionally, and spiritually and academically (especially college students). I understand that not everyone feels comfortable seeking help because neither do I. However, if you are unable to better yourself , step out of your comfort zone and find help. Additionally, if you notice someone else who you deeply care about struggling , help them. You should speak to them , stay by their side, or recommend them to a professional.

But always remember .....

It's okay ... to not be okay.

I think this is a great point of view and I like that you included men in this too. Everyone has bad days and I appreciate this post so much.
